Tolerance Trail Vision

The Tolerance Trail was created to honor the legacy of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Founding Father. It symbolizes his commitment to a united, inclusive nation, where people from diverse backgrounds coexist in peace. The trail emphasizes values of tolerance, health and wellbeing, and environmental preservation.

Umm Al Emarat Park

Umm Al Emarat Park is one of the largest and oldest parks in Abu Dhabi. Originally named Mushrif Park and built in 1982 as a park for ladies and children, the renamed park has seen extensive renovations, making it one of the best family parks in the city. In keeping with the park’s history and heritage, over 200 trees from the original park were salvaged and positioned in their original spaces throughout.

Founder’s Memorial

The Founder’s Memorial is a permanent national tribute dedicated to commemorating the life, legacy and values of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE. A place to learn about Sheikh Zayed through art, nature, words, stories, and multimedia experiences, The Founder’s Memorial offers visitors a range of personal encounters with the late Sheikh Zayed as a man and as a leader, enabling people to gain a deeper understanding of his vast influence on the UAE and the wider world.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Here, people from all walks of life come together to take in the architecture’s beauty and gain a deeper understanding of religion and culture in the United Arab Emirates. The mosque is one of the world’s largest and was the vision of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan – the Founding Father of the UAE. He envisaged the creation of a welcoming and cultural haven that inspires people from all backgrounds.

Wahat Al Karama

Spanning 46,000 square metres and located directly opposite Abu Dhabi’s world-famous Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Wahat Al Karama is a timeless tribute that honours the Emirati martyrs who sacrificed their lives in service of their country. Wahat Al Karama is home to a permanent memorial commemorating the United Arab Emirates’ heroes, including soldiers, police, diplomats and civilians, since 1971.

Sir Baniyas Island

The Arabian Wildlife Park makes up more than half of this incredible island. It’s one of the region’s largest wildlife reserves home to more than 17,000 free-roaming animals, including Arabian oryx, gazelles, giraffes, hyenas and cheetahs. The ancient island is also home to the UAE’s only discovered Christian monastery. Thought to have been built around 600AD and abandoned in 750AD, the monastery was rediscovered during excavations in 1992.

Moreeb Dune

Situated in Abu Dhabi’s majestic Al Dhafra region, Tel Moreeb is considered by many to be the world’s tallest sand dune, at over 300 metres high, with its 50-degree incline making it a prime destination for motorsports enthusiasts. Every February, the region’s most powerful four-wheel drives, quad bikes and dirt bikes compete in the Moreeb Hill Climb event, which is part of the Liwa International Festival.

Hudayriyat Island

Hudayriyat Island — a natural haven that a long line of Arabian pearl divers once called home — has quickly become one of the emirate’s most thrilling sporting destinations. It boasts a range of high-end sporting facilities that add fitness-themed fun to its picturesque surroundings while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Mary Mother of Jesus Mosque

It was built in 1989 as Mohammed Bin Zayed Mosque, and named after Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi. On 14 June 2017, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan decided to rename the mosque to “Mary, Mother of Jesus Mosque”. The change was done as an initiative exemplifying the values of co-existence among religions in the UAE, as well as to honour Mary, Mother of Jesus who is a respected figure in Islam

Emirate National Auto Museum

The pyramid-shaped car museum is located in Al Dhafra, is home to over 200 cars owned by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. There are plenty of photo opportunities even before you step into the museum, like the retired passenger jet and world’s largest model jeep parked outside. Inside the museum, you’ll find a collection of off-road vehicles, classic American cars and the Sheikh’s Mercedes rainbow collection.

Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Center

The Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre (SZDLC), housed in the Al Ain Zoo in a beautiful building boasting Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification, is a fantastic place to learn more about the UAE’s natural environment. Situated in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi’s garden city, you’ll find five interactive galleries here. Showcasing the country’s rich history and future-forward ideas, the galleries include the Sheikh Zayed Tribute Hall, Abu Dhabi’s Desert Over Time, Abu Dhabi’s Living World, People of the Desert and Looking to the Future. SZDLC was the first building in the UAE to earn a rating of five pearls in sustainability accreditation at the design and construction stage, where the application of exacting standards was set by the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council

Al Ain Oasis

Dating back to over 4000 years ago, the city of Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates is home to many oasis’s and is a treasured UNESCO World Heritage Site. The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation has recognised the significance of Al Ain’s oasis as a repository of genetic resources, biodiversity and Emirati cultural heritage. Al Ain Oasis preserves a culture and a way of life going back thousands of years. It covers 136 hectares and is the largest oasis in Al Ain.
